Does this plugin support WebP images like the WebP Image plugin?

WebP Picture plugin  checks each HTTP request and returns the old jpeg or the new webp picture depends the customer browser.
Google Page Speed plugin add the new HTML tag <picture> on the HTML page.
I advise you to use WebP Picture plugin.

I was looking at this plugin over the WebP Images plugin because this one supports nopCommerce version 3.7.  Can there be support for the WebP Images plugin and nopCommerce version 3.7?

No, nop 3.70 is very old. I don't plan to do the plugin for nop 3.xx.
